Experience Winter in the Outdoors with the Luminary Night Hike
Bundle up and bring the whole family for a great outdoor adventure! The Luminary Night Hike and Cross Country Ski on January 25, from 4:30-8:30 p.m., is a great opportunity to get outdoors, experience nature, and enjoy the beauty that winter brings. Held at Casper Bluff Land and Water Reserve, outside Galena, IL, this one of a kind event will combine winter wonder with the history of the area.
Casper Bluff Land and Water Reserve, located at 870 S Pilot Knob Road, Galena, IL, is an 85 acre preserve overlooking the Mississippi River, home to Native American mounds, scenic vistas, oak savannas, and the only intact Thunderbird Effigy Mound in the state of Illinois. The Luminary Night Hike and Cross Country Ski will offer the opportunity to see Casper Bluff as never before. Come hike the trails lit by luminaries, see the beautiful sunset, warm up by the bonfire, sip hot chocolate, and listen for owls. This event is appropriate for all ages and abilities.

A $5 donation per person is suggested for this event to the Jo Daviess Conservation Foundation, owners and stewards of Casper Bluff.
