Freeport Aquin 49 Pearl City 35

The Lady Bulldogs and Pearl City battled it out on Tuesday at PCHS with Aquin taking the hard fought fourteen point victory. Lady Wolves head coach Mike Lee said of his teams performance, “The girls played hard and the game was much closer than the final score indicated. The difference came in a ten point first quarter run and a seven point run in the fourth quarter where we missed eight shots inside of fifteen feet. Overall, I am very pleased with our girls. They worked extremely hard on defense and moved the ball better on offense. More importantly, this was a game we needed to measure our growth as a team and I was very pleased with how far we’ve come. I am looking forward to seeing how we play over the next nine games plus regionals.”

Aquin was led in the scoring column by Sophie Brunner’s sixteen points. Pearl City was led by Ashley Cropper who scored fourteen points with teammate Michaela Heinrich adding ten points.
