(Top) Greg Miller, Carroll County Coordinator for the Emergency Services Disaster Agency (ESDA), speaks with local municipal leaders
and emergency services personnel during the Wednesday, Oct. 14 National Incident Management System (NIMS) training session held at the
Thomson Fire Dept.
(Bottom) Ann Lindsay and Ron Strohecker, City of Lanark aldermen, review their notes before taking the NIMS series 700 test.
"The training allows those organizations who adopt NIMS to work together," Miller said. "NIMS improves the integration and connectivity among
all the separate jurisdictions in our county. Everyday, someone is planning something that could create an emergency situation. We don't always hear
about them, but the threats are there, not to mention natural disasters. NIMS training provides guidance to help your local leaders best take care of your
residents in case of such an emergency. We want incidents managed at the lowest jurisdictional level as possible."
