SAVANNA - Nearly 200 people attended the Palisades Art League's (PAL) Annual Fall Show and Sale Sunday, Oct. 19, at the West Carroll
Primary School on Wacker Road in Savanna. Judges for the event were Cecil Johnson of Savanna for Photography and Mark Skidmore of Galena for the
Art Division.
Kay Moore, PAL President, addressed the audience prior to handing out the awards. "Many of us often look at a piece of art and see it merely as
a 'pretty picture'; we're seldom aware of the story behind it. This year's choices for Best of Show all tell a story. Not so much of the effort made to
create them, but the idea the artist was trying to convey to the viewer." ?In Photography (advanced category), Bill Delp of Savanna won Best of Show for
his presentation entitled "Brotherly Love".
Joyce Kuhle of East Dubuque won Best of Show in Art (advanced category) for her nostalgic oil rendering of "A Walk With Grandpa". Her
prize money was graciously returned to the PAL for future use.

Roger Dorneden of Scales Mound from a shot he took while attending last year's PAL show, was awarded to Jeanne Bess of Savanna.
