Our Quality of Life Action Team delivered the meals in the fields. This year’s winners were Al Law, Gene Habben, Dave Boelkens, and Chris Person. Meals were delivered to the field by our volunteers. The winners had registered at our Membership Appreciation Breakfast back in June. The four winners and their harvest crew received a hot lunch delivered to them out in the field.
I have talked before about how time is limited and precious anymore. We are all guilty of cramming more and more into a day. One easy way to get involved without spending hours in meeting is to join the Illinois Farm Bureau Action Teams. You may not have a crystal ball, or the ability to determine the future of agriculture. But your special skills can create great things for ag.
Get involved and help create a positive future for farming. The Illinois Farm Bureau ACTION TEAMs are made up of four teams with 10-15 volunteers on each. They meet for one day, twice a year - and turn unique ideas and experiences into a year of activities and amazing results.
Quality of Life - Spread the word to farmers about health and safety and other quality of life issues.
Public Relations- Build the farmer’s image to the public.
Membership - Show the value of your IFB membership.
Education - Teach the public about agriculture.
Your team meets twice a year to brainstorm and develop a plan for one or two statewide projects. Even before you leave your team, the IFB staff begins its work to help make your ideas a reality. If your proposal is approved by the IFB Board, it is then set into action to produce great results. Applications are due December 2. So contact our office today for an application.
