Six people were re-elected to the Board of Directors of Timber Lake Playhouse during the organization's annual meeting at Oakville Country club in Mt. Carroll, IL on Saturday, Oct.17. Re-elected for three-year terms were Sheldon Frank, Madison, WI; Nancy Lawfer, Savanna, IL; Bernie Leopold, Freeport, IL; John Rylander, Sterling. IL and Andy Skoog, Milledgeville, IL. Gene Dymkowski, Clinton, IA, was re-elected to a two-year term.

At the annual meeting, the Playhouse's officers reported on the 2008-09 year and the recently ended summer season.

"I've often said that TLP is a magical place and that magic was no more evident than this summerGrease, Lend Me a Tenor, The Wedding Singer, Wait Until Dark, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and The Buddy Holly Story!" said President Larry Libberton. "Five of those six shows met or exceeded our budgeted figures. And then as the season came to a close, our audiences showed their confidence in the quality of TLP's productions by purchasing a record number of gold tickets for the 2010 season . . . more than 1,200. Now where do we go from here? We're looking at another season of top plays under the direction of our new Artistic Director Jim Beaudry and then it will be time for our 50th season."

Libberton thanked the Friends of Timber Lake Playhouse group, other Board members and the theater's sponsors for their continuing support. The Friends of TLP later presented a check for $4,000 to the Playhouse.

Also during the meeting, TLP inducted new members into its Hall of Fame that was created in 2008 "to recognize individuals, groups and organizations who have contributed to the success of Illinois's oldest continuously operating professional resident summer stock theater." Inducted were former Board members Dorotha Smith of Chadwick, Gladys Ludens of Morrison and Jack Rapp of Mt. Carroll; Northwestern Steel and Wire Co., Sterling, which donated structural steel when the Playhouse was rebuilt after the original structure was destroyed in 1974; Eugene Teeter, Mt. Carroll, TLP's largest monetary contributor to date and Bill Delp, Savanna, house photographer for the past 27 years. Inducted posthumously was Donald Mackay, who donated land on which the theater was built.

When the Board held its re-organizational meeting later in the evening, the following officers were elected for the 2009-10 fiscal year: President Larry Libberton, Mt. Carroll; First Vice President, John Rylander Sterling, IL; Second Vice President Bernice Leopold Freeport, IL; Secretary Nancy Lawfer, Savanna, IL and Treasurer Joe Titus, Savanna, IL.
