MacLean Fogg CEO Barry MacLean, U.S. Congressman Aaron Schock, Matthias Praus, MacLean Fogg vice president and general manager, Duncan MacLean, president of the Savanna facility and U.S. Congressman Bobby Schilling break ground for the new expansion at the Savanna factory on Wednesday October 24th. Construction is slated to begin this month.
Metform, a division of MacLean-Fogg Component Solutions, held a ground breaking of a new 100,000 square foot precision component machining facility in Savanna, IL on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. Guests included U.S. Congressmen Bobby Schilling and Aaron Schock, as well as several local officials.
Metform’s construction of a new state-of-the-art machining factory adjacent to the existing Hot Form plant on Route 84 had already begun, with operations expected to commence in the first quarter of 2013. NICAM Construction out of Freeport, IL will lead the facility expansion project as general contractor.
“The investment in the infrastructure, machinery & equipment is expected to top $30 million dollars and create more than 60 new jobs in the next 2 years. This project will support Metform’s significant business growth with newest technology and create long term manufacturing jobs in Northwest Illinois” explains Matthias Praus, VP & General Manager of Metform.
Metform owner Barry MacLean talks to the assembled guests during the groundbreaking ceremony at the Savanna facility. Metform will add a 100,00 square foot addition that will employ an additional eighty workers as they expand their operation.
