Last week, I was in Bloomington for the November Resolutions Committee meeting. The meeting was moved from a Wednesday/Thursday meeting to a full day on Monday in order to allow everyone to spend the other two days in the field where they are much needed. A President from each of the Districts in Illinois serves on the committee. So the whole state is represented. I think everyone down there thought I was nuts! I was sitting in the lounge with some of the men as we were all a little early and we were talking about harvest in our area. I made mention that there were combines rolling up here on Sunday. Some of them were thinking it would be Tuesday yet before they could get in the fields. Just goes to show while there are times were we don't feel very fortunate, we certainly are.

We have all of your favorite holiday candle scents in stock! I love walking into the office and smelling the Hot Apple Cider, Holiday Home, and Starlight Mint. Those are my three favorite scents. We also have Pumpkin Pie, Holiday Garland, and Santa's Cookies. The candles come in three sizes and rang in price from $6 to $12. AND, don't forget our punch card system. For each candle you purchase, you get a certain number of punches on your punch card, which can be redeemed for free candles. We do have a few scents also available in votive sizes. So stop by today and pick up your favorite scent!

You can still reserve your seat on the Girl's Day Out Bus Trip. The bus will leave here on Friday, November 20 at 7:30 a.m. and return approximately 7:30 p.m. Cost is $25 for members and $28 for non-members, which includes transportation and a goodie bag. Gurnee Mills offers a great variety of stores for everyone. They have a wide variety of outlet stores. They have a Burlington Coat Factory; Kohls; Bed, Bath & Beyond; Nieman Marcus Last Call; Sears Grand, JcPenney Outlet Store; and more, much, much more! If you don't think you can make it shopping the whole time, they also have some great restaurants and a movie theatre.

On Wednesday, Wal-Mart began selling turkeys for 40 cents per pound as part of its $20 Thanksgiving menu promotion that serves eight people. The $20 menu includes: one 12-pound Grade A turkey, three 11-ounce to 15.5-ounce cans of Green Giant vegetables, two 14-ounce cans of Ocean Spray cranberry sauce, three 6-ounce boxes of Stove Top stuffing, one 5-pound bag of red potatoes, one 12-count package of Sara Lee dinner rolls and one 22-ounce pumpkin roll cake. Now doesn't that get you started thinking about all the eating you will be doing in 2 weeks. I would have sworn last week it was closer than it is! I already know I am making a Turtle Pumpkin Pie to take to grandma's. It was a recipe I found last year and it was wonderful.
