Michael J. Metcalf, 55 yrs. old, of Lanark passed away peacefully at his home on Sun. Dec. 1, 2013, surrounded by his family, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on Aug. 23, 1958 in Chardon, Ohio, a son of Robert and Dorothy (Mandernach) Metcalf and was a Graduate of St. Edward’s High School in Elgin. He married Carolyn Walston in St. Charles, Il. on July 19, 1980. He was a member of Zion Church in Freeport.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn, of Lanark, his three children, Brittany Ann (Casimir) Golema, Nathan (Sarah) Metcalf, and Jessica (Andrew) Schmidt, five grandchildren, six brothers, Kevin, Patrick, Gary, Brian, Brad, and John Metcalf.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Tim and Geoff.
Services will be at 12 noon on Sat., Dec. 7, 2013 at the Zion Church, 4292 W. Stephenson St. Road in Freeport, Il. with Pastor Gardy Cronk officiating. Friends may call at the church from 4 to 7 pm on Friday and after 11:00 am on Sat. until the time of service. A memorial has been established in his memory.

Rickey D. Massey
Rickey D. Massey, 65 yrs. old, of Freeport died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 at FHN Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
He was born on March 10, 1948 in Coffman, AR, the son of Dwane and Hazel (Guntharp) Massey. Rickey and his family moved to Milledgeville, IL in 1950. He was a 1966 Graduate of Milledgeville High School.
Rickey will be deeply missed by his daughter, Amy (Kevin) Barnes of Lanark, his grandchildren, Cory (Michelle) Barnes and Kayla Barnes of Lanark, his sisters, Brenda (Charles) Anglese and family of Erie, IL. and Malia Cleghorn and family of Moline, IL. and his friends, Joseph Lutz and Marcus Price.
Rickey was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Cliola Diehl, brother-in-law, William Diehl, and brother-in-law, James Cleghorn.
The funeral will be at 10:00 am on Wed., Dec. 11, 2013 at the Russell-Frank Funeral Home in Lanark with the Rev. Rod Dye officiating. Burial will be in the Erie Cemetery in Erie, IL. The visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home.

Zachary T. Isenhart
Zachary “Zac” T. Isenhart, age 25 of Chadwick, Illinois died Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa as a result of injuries sustained from motor vehicle accident. Zac was loyal to friends and family and was a loving dad to his son, Alec. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Chadwick American Legion, Chadwick. Zac was born on April 14, 1988 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Nicholas and Karen (Huizenga) Isenhart. He attended Chadwick and Milledgeville Schools and graduated from Milledgeville High School with the Class of 2006. Zac later graduated from Sauk Valley Community College with a degree as a Radiologist Technician in 2009.
Zac worked as a traveling Radiology Technician after graduation for a few years. When he was younger, Zac and his brother Tyler, along with their Grandma Shirley, would show cattle at county fairs. Farming was in his blood and it was a major part of his life as he raised 60 chickens and sold their eggs. He also had a large vegetable garden and would sell his produce at various local farmers’ markets. Zac loved spending time in the kitchen and was an excellent cook. He was also a talented baker and could make a wonderful homemade pie. Most of all, Zac treasured spending time with his family, friends and his loyal Boston Terrier, Carmen.
Zac is survived by his father, Nick (Nancy) Isenhart of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; his mother Karen (Terry) Leif of Chadwick; his fiancé, Julia Allmon of Chadwick; his son, Alec; one brother, Tyler Isenhart; one half-brother Carson Leif; one half-sister, Sarah Leif; one step- brother, Justin Stolk; one step-sister, Jennifer Leif; his maternal grandparents, Kenny and Esther Huizenga and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Norm and Shirley Isenhart; and a special great- grandma, Margaret Friederich.
Glen Whiting, 82, of Thomson, Illinois died at his home on Monday, December 2, 2013. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Thomson, with Pastor Paul Fritz officiating. Burial will be in the Fulton Cemetery with Full Military Rites. Visitation will be held 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Thomson. Memorials may be given in Glen’s memory for the Thomson American Legion, Clinton AMVETS and the Savanna VFW.

Lawrence E. Green, 91, of Thomson, Illinois and formerly of Savanna, died Friday, December 6, 2013 after a three-week stay at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna. A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon, Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Burial will take place in Savanna Township Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00-12:00 Noon, prior to the service at the Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established in Larry’s memory.
