Smith-Engelhardt Engaged

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith of Morrison are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Lindsey Gracienne Smith to Jeffrey William Engelhardt, son of Shelley Engelhardt and the late Mr. Alan Engelhardt of Hoffman Estates.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Dick and Janet Gruhn and Merle and Grace Smith and the great-granddaughter of Paul Diffenderfer, all of Lanark. The groom-to-be is the grandson of Marie Engelhardt of Woodstock.

Ms. Smith graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale with a BFA in Art and Design. She is employed as a graphic designer at Greenlee/Textron in Rockford. Her fiancé is also a graduate from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale with a BS in Journalism and a MFA in Public Affairs Reporting from University of Illinois at Springfield. Jeff is employed as a reporter for the DeKalb Daily Chronicle in DeKalb.

The couple will exchange vows on April 27, 2013 at the Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison. Invitations have been sent.

Couple Celebrates 45 Years Wed

Samuel and Sandra (Simpson) Haas are celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary. They were married on March 3, 1968 in Mt. Carroll, Illinois.

They have four children: Scott (Terry) of Elizabeth, Shawn (Amy) of Stockton, Stacy of Mt. Carroll and Shane of Elizabeth. They have nine grandchildren: Austin Heller, Samantha, Courtney, Alexander, Andrew, Jenna, Kyle, Allyson, and Adam Haas.

Sam and Sandy will celebrate their anniversary with their family.
