Get Ready for Gardening - Morrison Community Garden Spring 2013
The sap is flowing in the trees and the ground will soon be warm enough to start gardening! Join us for the 4th season of gardening in the Morrison Community Garden.
Planting plots will be ready for planting early season vegetables as lettuce, radishes, and kohlrabi by late April and the regular planting season in early May. Plots are 10’x20’ for $25.00 that includes 2 bales of straw to help mulch each plot for moisture and weed control.
Garden plot registration started in November for all returning gardeners and will continue until the last day of April. Forms to register are available at Fitzgeralds, Happy
Joe’s, Angie VanderVinne Insurance Agency, Wilson’s Greenhouse and Flowers, and the Morrison Community Hospital.
On March 7th at 6:30 an organizational meeting for this year’s gardeners and sponsors of the Morrison Community Garden will meet at the Odell Library Community Room. All members of this year’s garden are encouraged to attend and share time to get to know each other and share our common interest in this successful community project. Each year the garden volunteers and gardeners work together to improve the garden as a sustainable effort that adds value for all those involved as a healthful, fun, and rewarding hobby.
