Are you a philatelist? Are you left wondering what philately actually is? Philately is the term which defines ‘the collecting and study of stamps and postal history as a hobby.’

Paul Sipiera from the Planetary Studies Foundation (PSF) and the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago will bring the realms of space travel, astronomy and stamp collecting together in this informative program. He will share the history of space travel through the hobby of stamp collecting.

This program will begin at 1:00pm at the 1876 Banwarth House & Museum located at 408 E. Sycamore St in Elizabeth. The fee for the program is $3.00 per person and free for PSF members. For more information please call Diane (815) 858-2014 or dsipiera@planets.org.

If you think you possibly have a meteorite that needs identification, do not hesitate to bring it in. Check the Planetary Studies Foundation website for more events at www.planets.org and find us on Facebook.
