William E. Bright

William E. Bright, 97 yrs. old, of Lanark, died Sun. Mar. 6, 2011 at FHN Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 28, 1913 in Freeport the son of William and Margaret (Nadler) Bright. On Dec. 14, 1938 he married Alice Knauer.

He was a retired Lanark area farmer and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He liked to travel and collected souvenirs from places he visited.

Surviving are three daughters, Lorraine Plock, Catherine Beauvais, and Wilma (Dennis) Lotz, all of Lanark, four grandchildren, Patricia Brown (special friend Donnie Lawrence) of Lanark, David (Pam) Lotz of Lanark, Billy (Loratta) Beauvais of Dixon, and Denise (Brent) Kalka of Arlington Hgts., four great grandchildren, Evan and Jaret Kalka, Elijah Lotz and Codie Brown, a sister Marian Martin and a niece, Carol Martin both of Lanark.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife in 1978, a grandson, Steven Plock, two sons-in-law, William Plock and Laurence Beauvais.

Services will be on Wed. Mar. 9, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Russell-Frank Funeral Home in Lanark with Pastor Philip Mathai of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Lanark Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home until the time of service. A memorial has been established in his memory for Trinity Lutheran Church.

Kelly R. Kelchner

Kelly R. Kelchner, age 39, of Center Junction, Iowa, formerly of Savanna, Illinois, died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. Cremation rites will be accorded. Services will be held at a later date.

Gordon William Shafer

Gordon William Shafer, age 73, of Hanover, Illinois, died Thursday, March 10, 2011, at the Midwest Medical Center, Galena, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 14, 2011, at the Law – Jones Funeral Home in Hanover, with Rev. David Vidler officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 14, at the funeral home prior to the service.

Jean Dauphin

Jean Dauphin, age 88, of Freeport, Illinois, formerly of Savanna, Illinois, died Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Provena St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, Freeport. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at the Community United Church of Christ, Savanna, with Rev. Nancy Wilkinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Savanna Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, prior to the funeral at church. Memorials may be directed to the Community United Church of Christ, Savanna.
