‘Music & Magic’ Features Return of Magician Joel Ward
Joel Ward will be one of the performers in ‘Music and Magic in Savanna’ when once again the doors of the Alan and Adrianne St. George Center for the Arts open on April 26th, 27th, and 28th, for a very special weekend of fun and entertainment.
Brought back by popular demand, Joel’s highly entertaining style of magic will again delight theatergoers with charisma and mind-boggling talent. Joel enjoys performing in Savanna and those who have seen his performances know how entertaining he is!
Joel makes things appear and disappear; he presents award-winning magic, combining classical magic with a contemporary touch. His presentations include comical audience participation, interactive close-up magic and flashy Las Vegas- styled illusions.
Joel became interested in magic when he was 6 years old. He started his own business at the age of 10 and started to perform at children’s birthday parties. By the age of 15, Joel had become a World Champion Teen Magician after placing 1st at the International Brotherhood of Magicians Annual Competition, the world’s largest magic organization. That same year, Joel was picked out of hundreds of magicians to appear on television with master magician, Lance Burton. The show, “Lance Burton – Young Magicians Showcase,” was filmed at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Joel currently performs hundreds of shows a year. He performed on NBC’s “The Bonnie Hunt Show,” and was part of the series called “Masters of Illusion” on My Network TV. He headlined the Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey Circus show, “Boom A Ring”, which toured the east coast and Puerto Rico. In January of 2011, Joel made his first appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and on Comedy Central’s Tosh.O. and has performed on A&E, FOX , Hallmark, NBC, CBS, and HGTV.
The weekend of evening or matinee performances will feature 5 great acts. Professional national and international talent will be arriving from California, Missouri, New York and Louisiana to present a full program of music and magic at the theatre. Other returning performers will include: David Sandy, who produced all of the magical entertainment for the Presidential Inaugural Banquet in January 2001 in Washington, D. C., Lance Rich, singer, dancer, magician and escape artist, and two talented professionally trained vocalists, Michael S. Dunavant and Talia Marie Aull, whose remarkable voices thrilled audiences last year.
And, since it is a night of magic, don’t be surprised if a special guest appears for the audience to enjoy.
Music and Magic in Savanna promises non-stop excitement and entertainment for the whole family. Alan St. George is sponsoring the event and recipients of proceeds this year will be non-profit organizations, The Savanna Historical Society and Adrianne’s Angels Pet Rescue.
