After the new shelving and furniture was set up last week by volunteers and members of the Lanark Public Library Board and Friends of the Lanark Public Library, the facility re-opened its doors on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. A Ribbon Cutting was held at the new City of Lanark Municipal Building at 111 S. Broad St. on Saturday, April 13.
Board members, City officials and guests participated in this landmark event. Later, The PA will post a video tour conducted by Library Director Janie Dollinger, and an interview with City officials about the importance of this project in relation to downtown development.
The Lanark City Hall has been operating at the new facility since February.
An official grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony has been scheduled during Old Settlers Days in June. Watch The Prairie Advocate for details.
