Music & Magic: A Unique Variety Show Featured This Weekend!
Music and Magic in Savanna this weekend will not only feature levitation, live doves appearing from nowhere and card tricks, a variety of vocal selections will be sure to please audience members of all ages. Selections performed by Talia Marie Aull and Michael S. Dunavant will include: ”Anything You Can Do (I Can Do Better),” “Till I Hear You Sing,” “Take Me As I Am,” “The Speed Test” (from Thoroughly Modern Millie), “Come What May,” and “At Last.” A special guest artist will entertain with a surprise rendition of a favorite traditional American folk song.
Magicians Joel Ward, David Sandy and Lance Rich will also perform their illusions at the Alan and Adrianne St. George Center for the Arts, 800 Chicago Avenue. Always entertaining, their high energy performances will have audiences laughing and wondering what is going to happen next.
David Sandy and Lance Rich have consented to arrive in town early so they may present a performance to K-3 students at the West Carroll Primary School Thursday morning. David became interested in magic at an early age from reading a book and will encourage students to discover the ‘magic’ of reading.
Hosted by Alan St. George, the event will benefit The Savanna Historical Society and Adrianne’s Angels Pet Rescue. Since 2008, St. George has hosted Magic in Savanna, bringing world class entertainment to the area, along with other special events at the theatre to help area non- profit organizations.
Family friendly, the guests will present new material, as well as requested illusions. Audiences of all ages will enjoy the full evening of music and magic that is sure to delight everyone. Performances will be held Friday and Saturday evenings and a matinee performance Sunday afternoon. Free popcorn and beverages will be served during intermission. Curtain time for the evening performances will be 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $22 for preferred seating, $17 for general admission seating. Children under the age of 18, in the general seating section are $12. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The theatre is not handicapped accessible. No strollers are allowed.
