Carroll County 4-H'ers Travel to Washington, D.C.Eight Carroll County 4-H families traveled to Washington, D.C over Easter Break. The group of 29, 13 adults and 16 children, had been fundraising for this exciting trip for three years. Six families flew out of Chicago, O'Hare and into Baltimore/Washington Airport and then traveled by bus to Chevy Chase, Maryland to stay at the National 4-H Conference Center. The remaining two families decided to drive and extend this trip beyond a four day vacation. While in Washington, the group enjoyed four jam packed days of sight seeing which included all the Memorials, Arlington Cemetery, where four of the members did the laying of the wreath ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, many Smithsonian Museums, National Archives, Union Station, Easter service at the National Cathedral, Holocaust Museum, Mt. Vernon, The National Zoo and a White House Photo Stop. The group would like to thank all the local donors who supported their fundraising efforts.It was a trip that will never be forgotten.
