Tylers Justice Center Moving SaleTyler's Justice Center for Children is hosting its first annual Moving Sale! The sale will take place in the Tyler's Justice Center parking lot on May 24th from 8 a.m. 1p.m. Donations of new and/or gently used items are welcome. Donations can be brought to Tyler's Justice Center on: Wednesday May 21st or Friday May 23rd from 4:30-7:30 p.m. If you would like a donation picked up, please call the agency at any time. All proceeds from the Moving Sale will benefit the "Helping Hands for Hope" Capital Campaign. The campaign benefits the new Tyler's Justice Center for Children facility. The new building is located on Front Street in Stockton. The agency broke ground for the new facility on April 17th and have high hopes of moving in in six months. Tyler's Justice Center for Children is a 501(c)3, non-profit Children's Advocacy Center which provides services to child victims of sexual and severe physical abuse. In the past, child victims of abuse were interviewed several times, by many people, sometimes in less than desirable locations like a principal's office or even the home of the perpetrator. Our Center coordinates members of a multidisciplinary investigative team along with the child and his or her non-offending caregiver, allowing the child to be interviewed by a trained, forensic interviewer. This process lessens the traumatization to children and allows them to disclose information in a place where they feel comfortable. We also provide crisis intervention for victims and their families as well as follow-up advocacy services. Our Center currently serves 3 counties in Illinois and unfortunately, we are seeing many children come through our Center.
