Memorial Day Service in Chadwick

Chadwick American Legion Post 739 will host the Memorial Day service on Monday, May 26 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chadwick school gym. The guest speaker will be Post Commander, Chance Kness. The color guards are Vic Hartman and Robert Kappes.

The Welcome and Roll Call will be by Justin Kness.  Opening prayer by Post Chaplain Jack Janssen. Other participants will include Mary Aude, American Legion Auxiliary Treasurer, Deb Adolph, Chadwick Village President, Nicole Shores, Chadwick Booster President, local Boy and Girl Scouts as well as a women’s choir (Carollynn Fink, Amber Smith, Rachel Rahn, Barb Alexander, Deb Adolph, and Sue Smith) providing special music accompanied by Nancy Janssen. Closing prayer by Pr. Marcia Strahl and “Taps” by Rachel Rahn will conclude the service.

The Chadwick Booster Club will be providing refreshments for everyone following the service.

Memorial Day Service in Shannon

Services “To Pay Tribute to the memory of those service men and women who have given their time and lives protecting this nation and its citizens” will be held Monday, May 26, 2008, 10:00 AM at the Eastland Middle School Gym in Shannon.

The Program will include readings of “Remember” and from “America’s White Table.”

Musical selections will be performed by the Eastland Middle School Band and Chorus.

Lanark Observance

The annual Memorial Day observance will be held at the Lanark City Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 26th. Congressman Don Manzullo will be the featured speaker. The new Veterans Wall of Honor will be dedicated. Children are asked to bring flowers to decorate veterans graves. Tents will be provided in case of inclement weather.
