This Friday, May 24th, the Carroll County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee will again be hosting their Annual Value of Corn in Livestock Feed Hamburger promotion. We will be selling 15 cent hamburgers, which figures out to be about the value of corn in the feed the cattle are eating. While it all varies based on diet, this is an average.
We will be selling the burgers from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. This year there will be a limit on the number of burgers a person may purchase due to some abusing the program in the past. There will be a two burger limit for adults and one per child. You also must be present. This should allow us to serve a greater number of patrons. There will also be meals available for $1 which will include a drink and chips.
Teachers, if you are looking for a class to sign up for this summer we are offering two classes in conjunction with JoDaviess and Stephenson County Farm Bureaus. We will be offering a week long class June 17-21 which is the Summer Ag Institute (SAI) and we are offering an SAI 3 July 23 and 24. Information for the SAI is available through the ROE with info for the SAI 3 available through our office. The SAI deadline to register is this Friday so don’t delay!

Remember me saying that I was looking forward to baseball season? I found out Mother’s Day weekend how crazy it can become in travel ball. This is the second year, Tucker has participated and so far I haven’t been able to compare the two years. On the one day, we left home at 7:15 a.m. and returned at 1 a.m.! Yes that is right, with travel time, down time between games, and the games that was an 18 hour day! Luckily our team came home with the championship trophy!
A reminder our office will be closed on Monday, May 27 for Memorial Day. We hope everyone has a safe holiday weekend.
