MABAS Drill at Danisco

A full scale Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) drill was held in Thomson at the Danisco Plant on Three Mile Road Wednesday, May 21. The mock drill featured most department in Carroll County responding. The drill was a response to an explosion with injuries and Haz Mat problems.

(Left) Fire and Emergency Services crews from Mt. Carroll, Shannon, Thomson, and Milledgeville responded to the mock drill, as did the Jo Daviess County HazMat Team, Red Cross Disaster Relief, and Life Line Helicopter from Rockford.

(Right) Firemen aid another fireman who started to feel ill during the drill. Three fireman fell ill and the drill was cancelled.
