16th Annual Northwest Illinois Sports Hall of Fame All-Star Basketball Games
Graduated seniors participated in their final high school basketball game on Tuesday, June 4th at Eastland High School in Lanark.
The first game of the evening began at 5:30 p.m. with the North vs. South girls contest. The South squad jumped out to a fourteen to twelve first quarter lead behind the scoring of Stockton’s Sarah Nadig who pumped in six points.
The South extended their lead to thirty one to eighteen at the half time intermission as Nadig’s teammate Kristen Wright added six second quarter points.
The third quarter was dead even with each team putting eleven points on the score board. Forreston’s Anna Drake led all scorers in the third with six points.
The final quarter saw the North team make a furious comeback out-scoring the South seventeen to six but couldn’t quite complete the comeback as the North fell 48-46.
Galena’s Brianna Bautsch led the North’s comeback, scoring eleven of her game high fifteen points in the second half. Drake led all scorers on the South team with fourteen points.
