Austin Ashby Elected Illinois State 2008-2009 FFA Vice President

West Carroll FFA member Austin Ashby, son of James and Lisa Ashby of Savanna, Illinois, was honored Wednesday, June 11, by being elected State FFA Vice president for the 2008-2009 school year by the delegates at the 80th State FFA Convention. He will serve the Illinois Association FFA for the next twelve months. Ashby, representing Carroll County and the West Carroll FFA Chapter, was elected from a group of ten candidates who had previously been selected by an officer selection committee earlier in the spring.

To celebrate this event for Austin there was a fire truck procession on Saturday, June 14 that started in Thomson at The Station - Atherton's. The parade proceeded to Savanna and ended in Mt. Carroll at the West Carroll Middle School. There were activities in the middle school gym with Austin as the guest of honor.
