Farm Bureau at a glance

Go To The Carroll County Farm Bureau

By Chastity Welch, Carroll County Manager

Summer seems like it will be here in no time. It is coming amongst rain drops however. It is nice to see the sun and feel the warm weather.

Just a reminder the Farm Bureau office and COUNTRY Financial office are closed on June 18, 19, and 20 for our remodel project. While at this time those are the only days we will be closed, we will have noise, dust, and dirt for a few months. Road construction in front of the office is also in full force as the rain caused them to take a few days off. Revamping the intersection also seems to happen on a daily basis causing delays.

Don't forget we have Six Flags tickets here at the office. Here are the ticket prices to assist you in planning your summer outing. Six Flags St. Louis has a great program going if you love to hit theme parks more than once. If you come into our office and buy a season pass voucher for $71 when you go to Six Flags you can trade it in for a season pass that is good at ALL Six Flags locations. It has to be validated at the one in St. Louis first. So for $71 you can visit all their parks as many times as you would like!

If that is too many rides for you, you can buy 1-day general admission tickets to Six Flags for $29 which is a savings of $19.51 off of the gate price. 2-day general admission tickets are $44 which is a savings of $7.75.

For Great America tickets you can buy 1-day general admission tickets for $35 which is a savings of $21.64 off of the gate price. 2-day general admission passes are $53 which is a savings of $13.94. A child's pass (age 3 to 48 inches) is $30 which is only a savings of 89 cents.

We also have tickets to Adventureland and Silver Dollar City. Adventureland tickets are $25 which is a savings of $6 off of the gate price and Silver Dollar City tickets are $46 which is a savings of $5.59. Remember as you are off to the parks, Farm Bureau members also save 20% at Choice Hotels.

How does a trip to the Panama Canal and the Southern Caribbean sound in February of 2009? If we have a winter like we did this past one, it sounds pretty good. Area Farm Bureaus and Tri-State Travel are sponsoring a trip to the Panama Canal and Southern Caribbean from February 16 - 27, 2009. This unique roundtrip cruise from Fort Lauderdale offers you the opportunity to experience the Panama Canal in just 12 days. The first day will be spent traveling to Ft. Lauderdale to allow some relaxation and reduce the worries about winter travel and flight delays. The second day we'll board the ms Zuiderdam to enjoy a chain of bright sunny Caribbean islands, including Holland America's private paradise in the Bahamas, then an unforgettable day in the Panama Canal marveling at the wondrous workings of the massive Panama Canal Gaton Locks and the serene expanses of Gatun Lake.

If you are interested in more information on the cruise and an itinerary, please contact our office at 815-244-3001. If you attended the meeting on the cruise and are interested in signing up, be sure to get your information into our office soon as you can. I know cabins will fill up fast!
