Donald W. Bauer

Donald W. Bauer, 86, of Sebring, FL, formerly of Lanark, IL died on Friday, May 21, 2010 at his home in Sebring, FL. He was born on April 17, 1924 in Sterling to Louis and Elizabeth (Frank) Bauer. On Sept. 9, 1989, Donald Married Marilyn Christensen in Lanark.

Donald was a retired Dairy Farmer, and was a member of the Sebring Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn, step daughter; Connie Heidenreich of Rowlett, TX, step son; Bruce (Carolina) Christensen of Crown Point, IN, ten step grandchildren and twenty nine step great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the Lanark Church of the Brethren with Pastor John Sgro officiating. Interment will be in the Lanark Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday at the Russell-Frank Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Lanark Church of the Brethren.

Stuart “Red” Hergert

Stuart “Red” Hergert, age 82, of Savanna, Illinois, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Wayne E. Speer

Wayne E. Speer, age 91 of Mount Carroll, Illinois died on Friday, May 28, 2010 at the Big Meadows Nursing Facility, Savanna. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the United Methodist Church, Mount Carroll with Reverend Mark Harkness officiating. Burial will take place in the Oakhill Cemetery, Mount Carroll at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Mount Carroll Swimming Pool in Wayne’s memory.

Grace C. Nobis

Grace C. Nobis, age 98 of Hanover, Illinois, died on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the Elizabeth Nursing Home, Elizabeth, Illinois. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hanover. Burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover. A visitation will be held from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Hanover. A memorial fund has been established in Grace’s memory.

Marie B. Daeumer

Marie B. Daeumer, age 91, of Savanna, Illinois, died peacefully, Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 5, 2010 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church with Reverend Philip Bigelow officiating. Interment will be with her husband at the St. Marcus Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 5, prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be given in Marie’s honor to the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Savanna.

Margery L. Wernick

Margery L. Wernick, age 67 of Savanna, Illinois died on Monday, May 31, 2010 in Lanark, Illinois. Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. A memorial fund has been established in Marge’s memory.
