West Carroll Announces Athletics Honors, Staff Changes

THOMSON – West Carroll Athletic Director Clint Cowman proudly announced a number of All-Conference awards for the High School at the latest West Carroll School Board meeting on June 20th.
Baseball All-Conference awards went to DH Joe Sullivan (1st Team Unanimous), and outfielder Nick Hughes (2nd Team).
Softball All-Conference awards went to Tygan Cole (NUIC West Division Player of the Year and 1st Team SS/C), Allison Thulen (1st Team, Pitcher) and Kim Durward (2nd Team, DP).
Track All-Conference Girls included Trelawney Baisden, Sam Boyer, Liz Conroy, Lindsay Dauphin, Maria Timm, and Kaylee Vos.
Boys’ Track All-Conference went to Jason Bracero, Tyler French, Austin Saunders, Jacob Klein, Payton Nevills, Jeff Casey, and Sam Quintana.
State Qualifiers in Track for 4x200 were Jason Bracero, Sam Quintana, Austin Saunders, Jacob Klein, Tanner Meador, Sid Harris, Tyler French, Jordan Bracero.
Staffing Changes
The following staff changes were approved by the West Carroll School Board in the executive session portion of their June 20th, 2012 meeting.
Resignations, with regret, were accepted from Andy Brotzman, high school evening custodian, Missy Hartman, summer custodian, and Robert Lamb, high school principal, retiring June 30th, 2014.
The Board also approved the following transfers. Robyn Lamb to Special Education classroom at the Primary School, Michael Spenser to a Special Education classroom at the Primary School, and Karlyn Cate to the evening custodian position at the High School.
The following were hired by the District; Chelsey Wheeler as high school science teacher, position to be shared with the Chadwick/Milledgeville School District, Ann Beswick as EXCEL teacher at the Primary School, and Stacey Russell as Middle School Special Education teacher.
Coaches hired included Tyler Vandendooren, High School freshman/sophomore football coach, Bryan Kamper, head baseball coach, Don Mathey, head softball coach, Dave Baisden, high school head track coach, Travis Findlay and Chrissy McIntyre, assistant high school track coaches.
Rebecca Wilson, Jen Goss, Rhonda Hartman, and Shawna Brotzman were hired for summer special education extended services.
