The Warriors sent four runs across home plate in the bottom half of the opening inning and rode the arm of Barr the rest of the way. Tuscola scored four runs on three hits and were helped by two Panther errors in the field. The Warriors added another four spot in the bottom half of the second inning on one hit and another Le-Win fielding miscue. A pitching duel between the Panthers Casey Schroeder and the Explorers Carter Hayden is how the third place game went through five innings before the Panthers plated two runs in the top half of the sixth. With the bases again loaded and one out, reliever Evan Heer got a foul out for the second out and picked pinch runner Tommy Weinman off at third base for out number three. Golf Outing to Financially Support Local families Fighting Cancer
On Saturday, June 9th, Le-Win coaches Ric Arand and Curt Oellerich will be hosting their 3rd annual golf benefit to raise funds to support families fighting cancer. The benefit will begin at 3 p.m. with a best-ball shotgun start at Wolf Hollow Golf Course in Lena.
Raffle tickets will be available for items similar to a flat-screen TV and BBQ grill. Dinner will be served as players come off the course. Last year, as a result of the generous donations of the golfers and sponsors, this event was able to provide more than $9000 to area families to help with living expenses while fighting cancer.
We are proud to say we have outgrown a 9-hole course in just two years and are moving to an 18-hole course this year to accommodate even more golfers.
We appreciate the support of our community for this event. This year, funds will be designated to support the Katy Lartz and Dan Bower families as they work at fighting this terrible disease. Your donation can help ease some of their financial burden and help them concentrate on getting well. For additional information, please contact Ric at 815-990-2218 or Curt at 815-238-0250.
