Lake Carroll Couple to Celebrate 50th

Barry & Jean Meyers of Lake Carroll are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Barry and the former Jean Kromer were married July 20, 1962 at St. James Lutheran Church in Forreston.

Barry worked 37 years for the Milwaukee Road and Canadian Pacific Railroads. Jean worked for a manufacturing company in Wisconsin.

Their children are Andrew Moring of Freeport and Layne (Tanya) Meyers of Waterford, WI. Their son Rob is deceased. The couple have 5 grandchildren and one great grandson.

An open house is planned for family and friends at the Lake Carroll Clubhouse on Sunday, July 22 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Dastice-Shuman Unite in Marriage

October 8, 2011 was a day in which best friends made the commitment to join their lives together forever. While celebrating October Fest in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, Jesse Shuman asked for Samantha Dastice’s hand in marriage.

On June 15, 2013 Jesse Shuman (Lanark, Il) exchanged wedding vows and tied the knot with Samantha Dastice (Berwyn, Il). This joyous occasion was celebrated by the couples parents Mr. Loren and Tammy Shuman and Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Gail Dastice. The ceremony was held at St. Leonard’s Church in Berwyn followed by the reception at Belvedere Banquets in Elk Grove.

Jesse and Samantha both graduated from North Central College in Naperville, Il. Samantha is a fourth grade teacher at Hiawatha School in Berwyn and working towards her master’s degree in Education Administration and Leadership. Jesse is a senior analyst of business planning and development for Kelloggs.

Open House planned for Pastor Josh

Chadwick Evangelical Free Church is hosting an Open House for Pastor Josh and Jen Jensen and their family. The celebration will be held on July 29, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Chadwick Community Building on Route 40.

God has called Pastor Josh and his family to Salem Baptist Church in Ashland, Wisconsin on Lake Superior. He will be the Associate Pastor of Body Life.

Daltyn Scott Starr

Danika and Nicolas Starr of Lanark are the parents of a son born May 11, 2012 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

Daltyn Scott Starr weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces at birth and was 21 inches in length. He is welcomed by big brother Kamden Nicolos Starr, 21 months.

Maternal grandparents are Scott and LeAnn Lindstrom of Lanark and paternal grandparents are Steve and Terry Ann Starr of Thomson.

Maternal great-grandparents are Marvin and Rose Lindstrom of Lanark and the late Carroll and Alice Landherr.

Paternal great-grandparents are Terry and Penny Edwards and Ken and Arlene Starr of Thomson.
