Jacob L. Albright Jr.

Jacob L. Albright Jr., 73, of Pearl City, died on Wed., July 13, 2011 at Rockford Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Sept. 7, 1937 at Pearl City, a son of Jacob and Anna (Walther) Albright. He married Linda Neis at The Church by The Side of The Road at Rockton on July 4, 1992

He was a lifelong Pearl City farmer and was employed at Kelly-Springfield Tire Co. for 32 yrs., retiring in 1998. Jacob was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Pearl City Lions Club. He had a John Deere tractor collection. He liked fishing, rodeos, playing cards, and coon hunting. He was a Clinton LumberKings baseball fan. Jacob was an avid coon hunter and showed Coon Hounds.

Surviving are his wife, Linda and son Jacob W. Albright, both of Pearl City; one step-son: Chris (Angie) Neis of Mt. Carroll; one step-daughter: Rebecca Neis of Mt. Carroll; three step-grandchildren: Leslie, Dominick, and Chloe Neis of Mt. Carroll,; six nieces and nephews, fifteen great nieces and nephews, fifteen great-great-nieces and nephews, and a close friend, Roger Barr of Morrison.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and two brothers, Virgil and Adolph, one niece and one nephew.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Sat. July 16, 2011 at the Offenheiser-Schwarz Funeral Home in Pearl City with Pastor Pat Esker of St. John’s Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Lanark Cemetery. Friends may call after 9:00 A.M. on Sat. at the funeral home until the time of service.

A memorial has been established in his memory.

Alvin R. Libberton

Alvin R. Libberton, age 90, of Savanna, Illinois died on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll. Burial will take place in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton. A visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m., Monday, July 18, 2011 prior to the service at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll. Memorials may be given to the Carroll County Good Samaritan in Alvin’s memory.

Georgia L. Petty

Georgia L. Petty, age 86, of Rockford, Illinois, formerly of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died Monday, July 18, 2011, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2011, at the Frank – Law – Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at the Frank – Law – Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll.
