80th Birthday Bash

Calling all fishermen! The master of fishing, Big John McConnel, Sr. is gearing up to celebrate his 80th birthday. His family is working to lure in friends, neighbors and relatives to an Open House in his honor on Saturday, July 14th, from 2 to 4 pm. at the Mount Carroll Community House, 101 Main Street, (corner of Main & Center Sts.)

Fresh bait to reel you in will be snacks and of course, sweets.

In lieu of presents, a non perishable food item for the food pantry would be appreciated.

The McConnel family is looking forward to seeing you there.

Cooper-Burkholder

Danielle Marie Cooper of Belvidere, IL and Colton Darr Burkholder of Belvidere, IL, formerly of Lanark, IL, are announcing their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Jerry & Sonia Cooper of Belvidere, IL. She is a 2007 graduate of Belvidere High School and 2012 graduate of Rock Valley College with an Associate in Arts and Media Production Specialist degree.

Colton is the son of Roger & Sherry Burkholder of Lanark. He is a 2006 graduate of Eastland High School and earned an Associates of Arts degree from Highland Community College and in 2011 graduated from Rockford College with a Bachelor’s degree of Science in History. He is employed at Acument Global Technologies in Belvidere.

The couple has planned a July 14th wedding and reception at Village Hall Banquets in Union, IL.

Manning-Ouelette Engaged

Robert and Myra Manning of Rock Falls, IL announce the engagement of their daughter, Amber Manning, to Nickolis Ouelette, son of Robert and Linda Ouelette of Princeton, IL.
The couple met at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL.
The future bride is pursuing a Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Administration and Higher Education and has received a Master of Science in Counselor Education degree Southern Illinois University. Her fiancé is also pursuing a Master of Science in Horticulture degree Southern Illinois University.

A July 5, 2013 wedding is planned at Deer Valley Golf Club in Deer Grove, IL.
