Copper Wire Theft

The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a recent theft of copper wire from a farm irrigation system south of Rock Falls. Over the past couple of years there has been a huge increase in the number of these wire thefts from irrigation systems in Whiteside and surrounding counties.

Sheriff Kelly Wilhelmi is asking for help from the public to stop these thefts and to catch the perpetrators responsible. We are reasonably sure that these thefts take place after dark. If anyone sees lights in farm fields, vehicles entering or leaving fields, or parked near them, please call the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office at 815-772-4044.

With the recent theft, a local farmer has offered a reward of $2,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible. Burglary

Carroll County Crime Stoppers is requesting your help in solving the following crime. Information leading to an arrest could earn the caller a reward of up to $1000.00. The identity of any caller will be kept strictly confidential.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary of a residence which occurred between the late evening hours of Wednesday, June 13th and about 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 14th. The location is a single family residence located on York Center Road just west of Route 78.

Unknown subjects forced entry through a back door and removed cash, jewelry, personal property and two gun safes containing several handguns and long guns. Persons having information about this crime, any other crimes or the location of a wanted felon should contact Crime Stoppers at 815-244-STOP (7867).

Copper Wire Theft

Carroll County Crime Stoppers is requesting your help in solving the following crimes. Information leading to an arrest could earn the caller a reward of up to $1,000.00 and the identity of any caller will be kept strictly confidential.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is investigating three separate theft incidents. Each theft involved the stripping of wire from large field irrigators and each occurred in the Thomson area. Unknown subjects entered the fields under the cover of darkness, disabled the irrigators, cut and removed the wire from it’s entire length.

The first theft occurred between Sunday, June 10 and Tuesday, June 12, 2012 near Rt. 84 and Fairhaven Road. The second theft occurred between 11 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12th and 7 a.m. the next morning on Sand Ridge Road, north of Three Mile Road. The third was an attempted theft interrupted by the owner and occurred at about 12:30 a.m. on Monday, June 18th on Stag Road, north of Thomson. In each case the loss exceeded $3,000.00 due to damage and wire value.
