EPC Cheerleaders participated in the Universal Cheerleading Association Cheer Camp held at Pearl City High School on June 7th thru the 9th. They learned many new floor cheers, sideline cheers and dances.
At the end of the week, they competed against other squads in attendance. The JV Squad earned first place on their floor cheer and the JV and Varsity Squad combined earned a second place on their Extreme Dance Routine. The JV and Varsity Squads each were awarded Superior ratings and spirit sticks for their overall camp performance.
In individual competition, Amber Duitsman and Katherine Murphy were selected as All-American Cheerleaders. This earns them the opportunity to travel to London to participate in the New Year’s Day Parade and activities.

IHSA Debuts Redesigned Website
On Tuesday, August 4th, the IHSA launched it’s newly redesigned website at IHSA.org. The site, which opened to the public in January of 1996, is a major source of information for member schools, licensed officials, media, parents, students and fans of high school sports. This is the first major redesign of the site in fourteen years. In 2010, IHSA.org received more than thirty six million page views from about two million visitors.
An important item to note on the redesign is that the page naming system is totally different. If you have a page bookmarked that you visit regularly, you will want to find that page on the new site and update your information. School webmasters are advised that links to individual pages and forms to the old website will no longer work and will need to be updated to get the latest information.
Some of the new features include, State Series information, Records information, Archived results, a new front page ScoreZone, a Twitter feed, an interactive events calendar, graphical brackets, a search feature and an all new “Porter’s Corner”, which is named after H.V. Porter, the former IHSA executive who coined the term “March Madness.”
Go to www.ihsa.org and familiarize yourself with the new look and the new features.
