Carroll County Farm BureauI need to send out a big thank you to those who brought their animals to the Children’s Farm at the Carroll County Fair. This year we had over 500 children visit us. We certainly wouldn’t be a hit without the generosity of those who bring the animals as none of those who come to the farm are coming to see me! Thank you to Terry Bocker and Family of Lanark for the sheep, Katie Hoffman and Family of Savanna for the dairy calf, the Nash Family of Sterling for the chickens, Elizabeth Rath of Mount Carroll for the rabbit, and John Newcomer of Lanark for the pig. Their assistance is greatly appreciated!! It is nearly that time of year, when I need to sit down and type up reports on all the activities, programs, and more that we have done this past year. I compare this time to the end of the “school year”. While most of you are preparing for the beginning of school, I am working on my “finals”. What grade does the Carroll County Farm Bureau deserve for their efforts in Ag Literacy or Local Affairs? The big test isn’t truly what we did, but can I remember back to last September! By now you should have received your Carroll County Farm Bureau dues notice in the mail. We did receive a handful back as undeliverable, but those have all had the address changed and have been resent. Just a reminder they are due September 1. If you have any questions on any of the membership benefit information included on the Blue Value Card, please let us know. We can send out to you the prescription discount cards with just a quick call to our office. Also, don’t forget to keep your membership card and present it with pride to obtain local discounts.
