Chadwick-Milledgeville School Board Meeting Summary

The Regular Meeting of the Chadwick-Milledgeville Community Unit School District #399 Board of Education was held at the Milledgeville School on Monday, August 17 at 7:00 p.m.

Les Nelson presented a request for the Board of Education to waive their policy of a half day enrollment and allow his daughter, Alyssa to participate in an extra-curricular activity.

Under Old Business, the Board approved the taking of sealed bids for the Ford Tractor and Mowing Deck until September 11, 2009 and the accepting or rejecting of the bids at the next Regular Board of Education Meeting.

The Board of Education discussed the invitation by the Eastland School District to join them for a dinner arrangement at the Triple I Convention in Chicago at $130.00 per plate. The board declined the offer and directed Superintendent Todd to look into making arrangements for a lesser amount for the Chadwick-Milledgeville Board of Education.

The Board was informed of a free workshop from IASB offered to them. The Board directed Superintendent Todd to contact IASB to arrange a "Team Building" workshop to be held in January on a weekday evening.

In New Business, it was moved by E. Rahn and seconded by J. Daehler to continue services with Fox Valley Food Supplies for the cafeteria. The motion carried unanimously.

The Board also voted to continue the districts contract with IASB for policy updating services. They also agreed to put the 2009-2010 proposed Budget on display and setting the Budget Hearing for 7:00 p.m. on September 21, 2009 followed by the Regular Board of Education meeting at 7:15 p.m. Motion passed unanimously on a voice vote.

In personnel, the Board agreed to hire Justin Miller as the K-3 Library Aide; Randall Kolthoff as the part time custodian in Milledgeville; Keith Mayne as a replacement Football Coach for $500.00 from the District and $500.00 from the Boosters. Jamie Wagenknecht was approved unanimously as a volunteer Junior High Volleyball coach for the 2009-2010 season.

The Board heard a High School administrator report from Mr. Schurman, as well as the Administrators review of opening institute day in the district.

With no Executive Session called, the Board adjourned at 8:50 p.m. Motion carried by voice vote.

The Budget Hearing is set for Monday, September 21, 2009, Milledgeville H.S. Library at 7:00 p.m.
