Aw nuts! That was my exact thoughts when the Terri Lynn order form for holiday nuts came in the mail this week. I know I have said it a million times this summer, but how can it be that time of the year already? That means our fruit prices will also be rolling in within the next few weeks. Stay tuned as we generally have order forms ready around October 1 for the Holiday Fruit and Nuts along with Fruit Baskets hand assembled by the Women’s Committee.
A reminder that we will be at Shannon Labor Days on Monday at 1 p.m. for the final Young Leaders Pedal Tractor Pull of the season.
August 31 marks the end of the Carroll County and Illinois Farm Bureau membership year. What are some of the benefits of being a Farm Bureau member you ask? There is a wide variety for everyone. Some of the most popular benefits include the hotel discounts. One of the more popular hotel discounts is the Great Wolf Lodge in the Wisconsin Dells. The other popular hotel discount is 20 percent off at Choice Hotels. Along with hotel discounts go the car rental discounts. I have taken advantage of the hotel and car rental discounts a number of times and have easily saved the cost of my dues.
For those who may not have insurance benefits for prescriptions or vision, there are two different prescription discount programs and two different vision benefit programs. For information on either the eye, prescription, or both programs just give our office a call.
We have had a few calls lately inquiring on the vehicle discount program offered by Farm Bureau. The current program is with Ford. Ford offers an exclusive $500 savings to Farm Bureau members. You can visit www.fordspecialoffer.com/farmbureau/il to learn more about the program and any exclusions.
If you haven’t taken advantage of our discount theme park tickets, you only have a few days left. Now that the weather has cooled down, what a great time to hit the park of your choice. We have discount tickets to Six Flags St. Louis, Great America, Silver Dollar City, and Adventureland. Discounts range from $5.95 to $22.49 depending on what park you are headed to. Tickets must be purchased by September 1.
Next Friday, September 6th, the 4C’s kick off their first program of the season. They will be touring and visiting Rack & Wing in Lanark. This is one of many tours they have lined up for their next program year. As I said last week, if you are interested in learning more about this group, give our office a call and we will fill you in on the details of their programs.
Just a reminder that the Farm Bureau office and COUNTRY Financial will both be closed on Monday, September 2 in observance of Labor Day. We hope everyone has a great holiday weekend.
