The Carroll County Republican Women’s Club has a 70-year history of supporting not just politicians, but community endeavors as well. In 2011, Wendy Klein (left), Vice President of the C.C. Republican Women that year, presented two new books to the Savanna Library Director Mary Meyers, an annual contribution by the Club to a county library for the addition of citizenship reading. The Ladies of the Carroll County Republican Women’s Club are celebrating their 70th Birthday Anniversary. All are excited about the meaning of giving time all of these years with the purpose of helping out the Republican candidates and passing the word around about our beloved Republican party.
They enjoy meeting, sharing a luncheon, laughing and discussing different issues that leaves all with the feeling of being proud to be an American.
These women are hosting a 70th Birthday party on Tuesday, September 10th at Manny’s Banquet Hall, 211 Main St. in Savanna. Social time will be from 5 to 5:45 pm. At 5:46 to 6:00 pm, guests will enjoy a delicious dinner of Broasted Chicken, Baked Potatoes, Salad, Green Beans, rolls & butter, and Birthday Cake for all.
There will be great music by the “Diamonds in the Rough,” a well known Country Western group of Carroll County. We will have a 50/50 raffle event as well.
The big part of the evening is the honoring of State Treasurer Dan Rutherford, who has also announced his candidacy for Governor of Illinois. Other guests of honor include Senator Tim Bivins and State Representative Jim Sacia, who will be joining us for some delicious chicken.
So, sing Happy Birthday and tip your hat to the ladies. Join us, please!
