Wilma I. Salzer, age 86, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died Monday, July 25, 2011, at the Carroll County Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mt. Carroll. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2011, at the Frank – Law – Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll. A funeral service will held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, also at Frank – Law – Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll. Burial will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. Wilma was born October 20, 1924, in Freedom Township, rural Mt. Carroll, the daughter of Frank and Katie (Rausch) Butt. She married Walter D. Salzer in Lanark, Illinois, in 1958. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1991.

Wilma worked at various factories in Chicago, Illinois, for many years. She also worked at home helping her husband with their woodworking business. Wilma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mt. Carroll. She enjoyed quilting, flowers, canning vegetables from her garden, and word searches.

Wilma is survived by one step daughter, Norma Simmons of Marion, Illinois; one step son, Delmar Salzer of Elgin, Illinois; two step grandsons, Mike Salzer of Coulterville, Illinois, and Raymond (Janice) McCann of Marion, Illinois; one step great granddaughter, Jobi McCann; and two sisters, Catherine (Allen) Van Brocklin of Elizabeth, Illinois, and Bernice (Vernon) Popkin of Savanna, Illinois.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter D. Salzer; two brothers; one sister; and one nephew.
