Richard Post

Richard “Dick” Post of Dunedin, Florida, died August 20, 2012 at Largo Medical Center in Florida.

Dick was born on January 30, 1929 in Fort Scott, Kansas to Lawrence and Ruth Post. They moved to Illinois to farm in the Chadwick area. He graduated from Chadwick High School in 1947. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict as a Sargeant at Bowling Air Force Base.

In 1951, he married Yvonne Kelly and they celebrated 61 years together. In 1955, he opened his own business in Clinton, Maryland. He was a true outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, and his family.

Upon retiring, he and Yvonne moved to Florida. Surviving are his wife, Yvonne; daughter, Annette Post; son, Michael (Debby) Post, a grandson; a great granddaughter; his brother, Roy (Grace) Post. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Ruth Post and his daughter, Laura Post.

Larry John Hasken

Larry John Hasken, age 71, of Sabula, Iowa, died suddenly of natural causes at his shop near Miles, Iowa, Sunday, September 16, 2012. Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the Miller – Law – Jones Funeral Home in Preston, Iowa. A private family burial will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Sabula, Iowa. Memorials may be given in Larry’s memory for the Preston-Miles EMT’s, the Sabula EMT’s, or the Humane Society.

Todd E. Brinkmeier

Todd E. Brinkmeier, age 48, of New Orleans, Louisiana, formerly of Savanna, Illinois died on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Interim LSU Hospital, in New Orleans. Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Gloria M. Thompson

Gloria M. Thompson, 84, of East Moline, formerly of Savanna, IL, died early Saturday, Sept. 15, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis. Services will be held at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will take place in the Savanna Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family or the Alzheimer’s Association.

John H. Reagan

John “Jack” H. Reagan, 64, of Savanna, IL, died Sunday, Sept. 16, at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, followed by Full Military Rites at 7:00 p.m.

William Hoover

William “Bill” Hoover, age 78 of Freeport and Thomson, Illinois died Friday, September 14, 2012 at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna, Illinois. A Celebration of Life will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Riverview Bar & Grill, Thomson and also a second Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club, Freeport.
