Green Fair 2009 Set For Saturday, Sept. 26

Find both inspiration and information for living green in Elizabeth, IL, September 26th at the Green Fair. Meet and speak with experts on solar, wind, and geothermal energy, sustainable living choices, and green building practices.

Some speaker topics are: Geothermal & Designing Energy Efficient Homes; Living within Your Means; Energy Efficiency & Conservation, Greening Your House; Chicken Soup vs. Toxic Soup Solar or Wind Site Selection; Rain Gardens: Beauty and Water Quality; Making Old Houses Green; and Urban Sprawl: Community Problems and Solutions. There will be many more topics including composting, green building, everyday recycling, and more on solar, wind, and energy efficiency!

Besides exhibitors in the renewable energy fields, parents can discover cloth diapers at the Green Bottoms booth, and families can purchase recycled and fair trade gifts from Just Goods. Wild Birds Unliimited offers everything you need to attract songbirds to your backyard habitat and purchase native plants and seed from Red Buffalo Nursery ­ they specialize in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin plants.

Take advantage of all the parts of the Fair, check out the environmental artists, taste local wines, ride a recumbent bicycle, discover green careers with college representatives, buy from the Farmer's Markets, and take part in the kid's activities! So be sure to bring your friends and family, carpool to reduce pollution, and attend Green Fair, September 26, 9:00 a.m. ­ 4:00 p.m. Admission to the Fair is $5.00 and to participate in the Wine Tasting Festival is $10.00.
