FREEPORT, IL – Stephenson County Republican Party hosted a “Meet and Greet” reception at its recently opened headquarters at 28 W. Main St. in Freeport on September 27. On hand to visit with constituents were three republican state officers: Treasurer Dan Rutherford, Senator Tim Bivins, and Representative Jim Sacia. Also in attendance to field questions and discuss issues with voters were eleven republican Stephenson County Board members and candidates for the 2013 consolidated election.

(R) Treasurer Dan Rutherford is introduced by Stephenson County Republican Party Chairman Cheryl Hartman, who welcomed everyone and introduced the officials and candidates. Treasurer Rutherford followed with a brief speech.

He took the opportunity to campaign for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, as well as, those running for the county seats. He stated that the next most important election on the horizon is the county board elections. “Working hard to elect these men and woman to the courthouse,” Rutherford exclaimed, “helps us bring about the troops to change the White House!”
