Camp Love ‘n Loss Applications Due
Camp Love ‘n Loss is a unique and innovative one day summer camp program designed specifically for children ages 6-13 who have suffered the loss of a loved one. A mixture of fun activities, including games, discussions, and focused arts and crafts, allows children to express feelings and concerns, identify supportive people, and find appropriate ways to use memories for healing and growth; with the theme of offering true HOPE for their future. Camp is free of charge to all and will be held from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on June 6 at the Sterling-Rock Falls Family YMCA and is hosted by Hospice of the Rock River Valley (HRRV). Camp applications are due May 24 and are available by calling Sarah at 815-288-3673.

Mount Carroll’s Mayfest Celebration
Mayfest will be held Memorial Day Weekend at Campbell Center.There will be a craft show, food tent, Rotary beer and wine garden, kids’ entertainment, juried art show and continuous musical entertainment all weekend. Look for the ad in this week’s PA. Entertainment gate price is $6 per person in advance and $8 at the gate. Children under 5 are free. Admission buttons, good for the entire weekend, can be purchased at the reduced price at several Mt. Carroll businesses. Morrison Memorial Day Events
The American Legion Morrison Post 328 will host a Veteran’s Breakfast at Odell Library Community Room on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. Reservations for Veteran and guest are needed by May 20 to Al Geerts at 815-772-3577. The Morrison Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 27 at 10:30 a.m. beginning at 416 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL, and proceeding west to Genesee Street, then north to High Street and Grove Hill Cemetery for the Memorial Ceremony. All veterans are invited to ride on a hay rack up to the ceremony (meet at Morrison Tire at 10 a.m.). Immediately following the ceremony the American Legion Post #328, 306 E. Main Street will host an Open House.

Registration must be done in person (with the bicycle) at the police department . By registering bicycles, lost or stolen bicycles that are recovered can be returned to the owner.
