Dregers Celebrate Golden Anniversary

John & Mary Ellen Dreger of Savanna, IL will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on August 26, 2011 with a family dinner at the Bass Street Landing, Davenport, IA. They were married August 26, 1961 in Milwaukee, WI at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. They have 2 children, Kurt (LueAnn) Dreger of Savanna and JoEllen (Mark) Sperfslage of Bettendorf, IA. The have 2 grandchildren, Megan (Chris) Osborne of Davenport, IA and Cameron Dreger of Savanna, IL. The couple is expecting their first great-grandchild, Hadley Osborne, due in December.

They owned and operated Mary Ellen’s Ceramics in Savanna and John retired as an engineer from Amcom, Rock Island, IL.

Chadwick Couple to Celebrate 50th

Randall & Joyce (Gassman) Peterson of Chadwick will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on September 3, 2011.

Randall and Joyce were married in 1961 at Salem United Church of Christ in Eleroy. Together they have raised 2 children, Greg (Patti) Peterson of Toluca and Pam Queckboerner of Freeport. They are blessed with 5 grandchildren, Christopher (Amber) Meier, Brittany Meier (Jeremy Haas), Brian Peterson, Jennifer Peterson, Alicia Mullen and one great-granddaughter Makayla Meier.

Randy and Joyce are both retired and enjoy sharing time with their family and friends, traveling and caring for others.

The couple will be in celebration of their Anniversary with a family dinner. Please shower Randy and Joyce with cards and written memories in celebration of their 50 years together. Greetings may sent to the couple at 56 Wilson, Chadwick, IL 61014.

Byers-Deal Wed

Ashley Byers of Shannon, and Gregory Deal of Danvers, IL, were married at 3:00 p.m. July 16 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Shannon.

Her parents are Phillip and Linda Byers of Shannon. His parents are David and Jean Deal of Danvers.

Friend of the bride, Rikki Knutti-Hatheway was the Matron of Honor and brother of the groom, Lucas Deal was the Best Man. Ushers were brothers of the bride, Aaron and Mack Byers.

A reception was held after the ceremony at Plumtree Lodge in Lake Carroll, followed by a trip to Eagle River, WI.

The bride double-majored in Economics and Agribusiness at Illinois State University. She works as a Credit Assistant and Customer Service Rep at Evergreen FS. The groom double-majored in Agribusiness and Agronomy at Illinois State University. He is a farmer. The couple resides in rural Danvers, IL.

Ashley and Greg would like to thank everyone who made the trip to spend such an important day with them! They would also like to extend their appreciation to the wonderful friends, neighbors, and local businesses that helped to make their wedding a communal celebration! Stoner’s Welcome New Son

Codie and Amanda Stoner of Pearl City are the proud parents of a new son, Taggert Douglas Stoner, born on Saturday, August 7, 2011 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe, Wisconsin. Grandparents are Doug and Cindy Howarth of Cedarville and Duane and Bonnie Stoner of Shannon. Great-grandparents are Quentin and Gloria Howarth of Lena, Pat and Charlotte Moses of Rapid City, South Dakota and Dorothy Stoner of Freeport.

Houzenga’s Welcome New Daughter

Jake and Kiana Houzenga of Lanark are proud parents of a new daughter, Cattariaa, born on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the Monroe Clinic in Monroe, WI. Cattariaa joins a brother Wesley, age 5, at home. Maternal grandparents are Dan Sweitzer of Lanark and Sandy Sweitzer of Pearl City. Paternal grandparents are Randall and Karla Houzenga of Chadwick. Maternal great-grandparents are Mary Morgan of Lanark and Betty Sweitzer of Lanark. Paternal great-grandparents are Sylvia Melby of Erie.
