Knight Couple Enjoy 50 Years

Mr. & Mrs. Bernard P. Knight of Lanark will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on September 16, 2011 with family.

Bernard Knight and Mary Christine Hale were married September 16, 1961 in Lena, IL.

Bernard & Mary (Chris) are the parents of Becky (Charles) Rex of Polo, Pam (Dave) Duball of Atkins, IA, Bernie (Julie) Knight of Hospers, IA and Christopher (Amy) Knight of Chadwick.

The couple has 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Kneiss Couple Welcomes First Born

Sam and Andrea Kneiss are the proud parents of a baby daughter, Mariella Leona, who was born on August 7, 2011. She weighed 7 lbs., 3 oz. and she was 18 inches long. Grandparents are John Kneiss and Mary Anne Kneiss-Smith.

Houzengas Welcome New Daughter

Jake and Kiann Houzenga of Lanark are proud parents of a new daughter, Cattarina Louise Houzenga, born on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Monroe Clinic in Monroe, WI. Cattarina joins her 5 year old brother, Wesley, at home. Maternal Grandparents are Dan Sweitzer of Lanark and Sandy Sweitzer of Pearl City. Paternal Grandparents are Randall and Karla Houzenga of Chadwick. Maternal great-grandparents are Betty Sweitzer and Mary Morgan both of Lanark. Paternal great-grandparent is Sylvia Melby of Erie.

Kaufman Enrolls in Educators of Beauty

Kayla Kaufman of Savanna has enrolled at the Educators of Beauty located in Sterling, IL. She will be studying all phases of cosmetology training. After completing 1500 hours Kayla Kaufman will be eligible to take the Illinois State Board Examination and become a licensed cosmetologist, skin esthetician and nail technician.

Kiley Carroll Joins American Angus Association

Kiley Carroll, Lanark, Illinois, is a new junior member of the American Angus Association®, reports Bryce Schumann, CEO of the national organization with headquarters in Saint Joseph, Mo.

Junior members of the Association are eligible to register cattle in the American Angus Association, participate in programs conducted by the National Junior Angus Association and take part in Association-sponsored shows and other national and regional events.

The American Angus Association is the largest beef breed association in the world, with nearly 30,000 active adult and junior members.
