WCMS 7th Grade Split With Challand

The West Carroll Green team of the 7th grade fought hard but lost to Challand (Sterling) Gold team on Tuesday, September 27th. “The Gold team from Challand is very good,” commented Coach Kari Baisden. “They hit the ball and making those digs is something we are still working on.” The scores in the match were 7-25 and 10-25. Baisden added, “There were times that we played very well and those times are not reflected in the score. I was proud of the girls for not giving up, they kept working hard right to the end.”

The second match of the night pitted the Black team against the Challand Blue team. “This match was just the opposite of the first,” said Coach Baisden. With great serving from Emily Suiter, Grace Fehlhafer, Natalie O’Connor and Raelyn Rekenthaler leading the way, the Thunder defeated Challand 25-8 and 25-18. “With our teams, we have equal talent on each team, but there is a definite difference in teams like Challand’s,” said Baisden. “Both of our teams worked hard and played well, it’s just the outcome that was different.”
