Arthur Allen Moshure

Arthur Allen Moshure, age 57, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010, at his home in Freeport, Illinois. A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at the Mt. Carroll United Methodist Church with Reverend Mark Harkness officiating. Burial of ashes will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Mount Carroll. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 12, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll. Art was born January 14, 1953, in Savanna, Illinois, the son of Rayfield and Alice (Walter) Moshure. He graduated from Mt. Carroll High School, Class of 1971 and went on to earn an Associates Degree in Automotive Mechanics from Highland Community College, Freeport. On June 30, 1973, Art married Linda Reynolds in Mt. Carroll. They enjoyed thirty–six years together.

Art worked for the Carroll County Sheriffs Department as a Correctional and D.A.R.E. Officer. He then worked as a real-estate agent working for Old Northwest Land, Co., Galena and Century 21, Freeport.

Art was a member of the Mt. Carroll United Methodist Church, the Mt., Carroll Ambulance Association, and a life-long member of Boy Scouts of America. Art ‘s family meant the world to him, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and camping; fixing almost anything; and talking with friends.

Art is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife Linda of Freeport; daughter, Sandra (Ryan) Getz of Lostant, Illinois; son, Jesse (Sharon) Moshure of Greer, South Carolina; two grand daughters, Sophia and Ella Getz; and a brother, Jerry (Jeanne) Moshure of Camanche, Iowa. Art was preceded in death by both parents.

Mary Pearl Cadd

Mary Pearl Cadd, age 89 of Savanna, Illinois, was called home to be with God and her many loved ones on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the Carroll County Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mount Carroll, Illinois. Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Marsha Ann Bedford

Marsha Ann Bedford, age 61 of Hanover, Illinois, formerly of Savanna, Illinois died on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at the Carroll County Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mount Carroll, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Burial will take place in the Springlake Cemetery, Savanna. A visitation will be held from 11:00 –1:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in Marsha’s memory.

Samuel Aurlia Jackson

Samuel Aurlia “Sam” Jackson, Sr., age 81, of Savanna, Illinois, died Saturday, April 10, 2010 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford, Illinois.  A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church, Savanna, with Reverend Michael Wey officiating.  Burial will be at the Spring Lake Cemetery, Savanna.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna with a Masonic service held at 8:00 p.m..  A memorial fund has been established in Sam’s memory.
