Raymond Neill

Raymond “Ray” Neill, age 76, of Chadwick, Illinois, passed away Monday, March 14, 2011 at home. Cremation will take place and a Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011 at SS. John & Catherine Catholic Church, Mt. Carroll. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the Church. Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice in Raymonds honor. Ray was born June 5, 1934, the son of Bascom and Cora (McBroom) Neill in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Pershing High School in Detroit. In 1951, Ray enlisted in the United States Air Force, he served in Korea and was later stationed in Portland, Oregon. On December 27, 1954, Ray married, Delores Yell of Sterling, Illinois.

Following Ray’s discharge from the military, they moved to Detroit where he worked for Detroit Edison Corporation for ten years. In 1965, the family moved to Pasadena, California where Ray worked for the City of Pasadena, they retired to Chadwick in 1995. During retirement Ray and Delores began working for a Sports Caterer named “Hole In One Catering” which provided food services to the PGA Tour. They enjoyed traveling around the country in their RV managing concessions and meeting many new dear friends. Ray also enjoyed fishing, golfing and woodworking.

Ray is survived by his wife, Delores of Chadwick; four daughters, Cheryl Neill of Chadwick, Nancy Mitchell of Canoga Park, CA, Laurel (Phillip “Buster”) Baglieri of Temple City, CA and Marci Neill of Pasadena, CA; a son, Daniel Neill of Temple City, CA; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; and a sister, Patty Lewis of Gold Beach, Oregon. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Earlene Martin and a brother, Thomas Neill.

Delores “Elaine” Piesen

Rocky River, OH - Elaine Piesen was born July 6, 1940 in Freeport, IL to Merle and Cora Hawbecker.

She enjoyed the small town life in Lanark with her brothers Byron and Melvin. She was a member of the 4-H club, was a cheerleader and was named the Fireman’s Ball Queen. She married David Piesen on February 21, 1959, and they were married for 52 years.

She was the loving mother of Amy Foye, Tammy Petronzio, and Scott Piesen. She was the proud grandmother of Kaitlyn and Andrew Foye, Allison and Nathan Petronzio and Nicholas Piesen. She was mother-in-law to Scott, Russell and Vicki. She most loved being a devoted mother and grandmother.

She was an accomplished pianist. As a teenager, she served as an organist in her father’s church. She was a longtime member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the West Tech Faculty Wives Club. She loved needle work including needlepoint, knitting, crocheting, and quilting. She loved to garden. Elaine was an avid golfer. She and Dave played many times in South Carolina and Georgia in the winter. She played in the Thursday Women’s League at Hilliard Lakes in Westlake and the Tuesday Ladies League at Big Met Course in Cleveland. She was also a charter member at Grey Hawk Golf Club in LaGrange, OH. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels.

She died on March 14, 2011 in North Olmsted, OH at age 70.

Memorial service was held Sunday March 20, 2011 at the Lakewood United Methodist Church, 15700 Detroit Road, Lakewood, OH at 2:00pm. Memorials may be forwarded in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 23215 Commerce Park Drive #300, Beachwood, OH 44122. Lyle Webster

Lyle Webster, age 82, of Savanna, Illinois, formerly of Hanover, Illinois, and Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Monday, March 14, 2011, at The Alverno Nursing Home, Clinton, Iowa. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2011, at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Burial of his cremated remains will take place in the Lost Mound Cemetery, rural Hanover. Military Rites will be accorded by the Hanover VFW Post#5300. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna.

Blaine E. Yates

Blaine E. Yates, age 82, of Savanna, Illinois, died Monday, March 21, 2011, at home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2011, at the Law – Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Burial will follow in the Savanna Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family in Blaine’s memory.
